KM Silent Auction Bizzle Bites- May 2011

Hi bloggers!!

Heidi here with another Bizzle Bite post for you all.

These are pics of another auction display that I donated for my friend Heidi's school. This I made with a carnival theme in mind...

Instead of dealing with uncooperative fondant, I decided instead to cover my foam tiers in a festive wrapping paper. And with that as the inspiration I dipped my yellow and chocolate cake BB in different colors of white chocolate. Adorning them are colored jimmies and white non perils. I can't wait to find out how they do at the auction tonight.

Here are some more pics for your enjoyment...

Baby Shower Bites!!!- May 2011

Happy Friday!! It is a gorgeous day here in Marysville WA as I sit and type out this blog. I hope it lasts for a while!! :)

So my friend Kristina called a week or so ago and asked me if I would like to make some Bizzle Bites for a baby shower that she was helping coordinate at her school for a teacher. I again jumped at the opportunity and was super excited about doing Bites for a shower. My first!!

The shower was not the typical all blue boy or all girl pink theme shower. They were doing like an ocean theme and the colors were purple, blue and green. And she was having a girl and was not a big fan of the pink thing. So with that said I was a little stumped at what I was going to do. But after a long trip to the fabric store and a lot of back and forth hemming and haaing this is what I came up with...

Sorry again about the poor lighting in my dining room but I think you can get the jist of it. For this display I used square cut foam (thank you again to my awesome husband for helping me with that) and covered it in a blue tinted marshmallow fondant and painted a white pearl dust on it for it to shimmer. Boy that fondant gave me trouble. I am so not making that again and am going to go with the pre-made stuff and just color that.
The Bizzle Bites themselves were half chocolate and half yellow cake. I made a vanilla butter cream frosting and mixed some of that in the cake for the binder. They were then dipped in white chocolate colored and decorated with different mediums of the 3 shower theme colors: purple, blue and green.

After the display was mostly dry and done (it took forever for that fondant to dry!) I took some ribbon with different polka dots on it and wrapped the fondant tiers with that. It kinda gave the display a water/ocean look I think. And when I wrapped the BB up I tied a little plastic pacifier through the ribbon as a little baby shower favor. They were finished with a purple ribbon.
And there you have it. Even though I thought the fondant could have been nicer (I am still trying to perfect covering with that stuff) it turned out nice for the most part. And the guest of honor loved it so that is all that mattered. :)

Auction #2: SCC Auction- May 2011

Good day bloggers!

I just posted about my first auction that I made my Bizzle Bites for. And it was awesome. And how coincidental that I would have another auction where I would be a Bizzle Bite display. This auction was last Friday night and it was for the Seattle Children's Chorus. Our pastor's wife is the director there and just happened to see if I would like to make some for their auction. And because I love her and SCC I couldn't pass that up.

For these BB's I made 2 kinds of cake and frosting. First was the coconut cake with chocolate coconut ganache, dipped in dark chocolate and rolled in toasted coconut, mini chocolate chips or a Heath bar crunch topping. The second was a chocolate cake with a chocolate peanut butter ganache, dipped in dark chocolate. YUMMO!!!!! They were also either rolled in Heath bar crunch pieces, or decorated with sugars or pearls. They were sooooooo good!!!!

Here are the pics of these super delicious BB made just for the SCC Auction...

These are the best bites ever!!!! You can see the

Marysville Co-Op School Auction- Apr 2011

Hello blog followers!

I have recently done a couple of displays of Bizzle Bites for a couple auctions that I would like to share with you all.

This first one was done for the co-op school here in Marysville. My best friend Carrie is a mom of 2 and also on the auction committee. So she asked me one day if I would donate some of my BB to her school's auction. Why of course I would! What a great opportunity to get my work out there and to help raise money for a great school in our community.

So a couple nights before the auction I worked like a crazy person getting my bites done and decorated. And with the help of my AWESOME husband Jeff, we were able to build a mock cake out of foam, I then decorated it in fondant then we stuck the BB on the 3 tiers. It turned out soooo good! And for a nice, classy touch, I lined the bottom of each tier with some satin ribbon. It sort of looked like a mini wedding cake. I would sooo love to make more of these.

Check out my pics and let me know your thoughts and suggestions. Please don't be shy. I would really like some input...

All these Bizzle Bites were done with a devil's food cake, a
Bailey's butter cream icing and vanilla chocolate shell
colored pink or turquoise.
Green, blue and yellow...Sounders Bizzle Bites!
